Presented By [www.rina.org]

QE CLASS SUPPORT INTEGRATION MANAGER, SUPPORT DELEGATED DESIGN AUTHORITY, BAE SYSTEMS SURFACE SHIPS LTD.

An evening seminar, Monday. 1 October 2018, at 1730hrs for 1815hrs, onboard “HQS Wellington”

The projection of air power from the sea is a vital military capability and the two new Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers represent an important centrepiece to the UK’s Naval inventory. The ships enable the perpetuation of the UK’s Carrier Strike capability, replacing the Invincible class. This talk examines the requirement for Aircraft Carriers in general and explains the contractual construction of the Aircraft Carrier Alliance formed to build the ships. The ship design will be explained and a report made on the progress of the shipbuilding programme. The challenges of supporting the ships once they enter service are outlined.
